restyle: the end

tutu made by friend / vintage belt / Forever New tights

It's here! The final day of Perth Fashion Festival and Lotterywest's 30 Days Of Restyle! And not going to lie, I'm pretty bummed. It's been exhausting (in the best possible way, of course) but I've had so much fun and I'm quite proud of myself for getting through it with minimal mind blanks. If I had the chance to do it for another month, I absolutely would.

On this sad, sad day I thought I'd try and turn this final post into as much of a party as I could. So hello tutu, hello bubbles, hello jumping and dancing around like a fool. What every outfit post should include, really!

I really hope y'all have enjoyed this little adventure over the past month. And are now maybe even a little inspired to get your op shop on, if you weren't already? And hopefully you're not totally tired of my face, and that ol' gate, also. I'll be back with a post featuring my favourite outfits, and then it'll be time to get ready for the runway show. The excitement's not over yet, thank heavens.

I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to Renee and the Perth Fashion Festival crew for having me along for this too-good-to-possibly-be-true month of merriment, to Lotterywest for their support, to all the other Restylers for coming up with such excellent getups every day, and to every single charity and every single volunteer at those charities for not only providing people like myself with rad clothes, but for donating their time and energy to help the community. You're all awesome.

restyle: indulgence

Top from Salvos ($3.99) / Scarf from Anglicare ($2.00)

vintage skirt / ASOS sandals

It's the second last day of Restyle, you guys! I can feel some emotion coming on... but I'll save the tears for tomorrow's post. Right now I'll just try to hold back the jealousy-inducing details of my glorious day that consisted of coffee and cake then sitting on the couch all afternoon with a good pal watching The Newsroom while inhaling chocolate (I'm not cruel like that, you know?)

Oh boy, I absolutely could not resist this top. I need more ridiculous patterns in my life. I can feel another 'you can never have too many...' rule coming along. I seem to make up a lot of those, huh?

restyle: a go go

Top from Anglicare ($5.00)
with
vintage skirt / ASOS sandals

Hello weekend? Hello exhaustion! I've been nonstop go go go for the past 24 hours with work last night (the Devilles sort - have you been there yet?), a few glorious hours sleep and a super awesome shoot all day today (more on that later - it's exciting, promise.) And now I am on my way out to blow off some steam with a couple friends before getting straight back into it all tomorrow! And I wouldn't have it any other way. Well, a bit more sleep would be nice. But other than that, life is keeping me busy and treating me pretty pleasantly at the moment.

restyle: best vest

Top from Save the Children ($5.00) / Vest from Anglicare ($5.00)
with
Vintage jeans / ASOS sandals

Great week, guys. Awesome work, high fives all around. Celebrating the Perth Fashion Festival getting into gear, having plenty of work to keep me busy (of the dancing, photographic and film variety - my favourite kinds of work), catching up with friends, hanging out with a family of ducklings that are currently residing in my friend's backyard (YEAH YOU READ RIGHT, I FEEL YO JEALOUSY). And I've got a dance- and film-filled weekend to look forward to. Happy happy me. I hope life is treating all of y'all just as kindly?

restyle: bewitching

I'd no plans to make today any wickeder than usual, but it was definitely fun to heap on the black and get my witch on just a little bit...

Perth seems to have gotten over its little summer-like tease of warm-ish weather and thrown itself back into a full on rain- and wind-filled flurry. And so what better timing to show off this amazing coat? This is easily one of my favourite Restyle finds so far. It's big, it's warm, it's classy. An absolute score.

restyle: launched

Skirt from Red Cross ($30.00) / Belt from Good Samaritan ($2.00)
with
i.d.s. top / Forever New tights / ASOS socks / Lucy Lockett heels

And here is how I looked at this morning's marvelous event!

This skirt is easily one of my favourite things I've ever found in an op shop. A little more than you might expect to pay (the steep price of $30 HAHAHA) but this is some damn sweet quality vintage. Just can't say no to that shit. Flattering, diverse, warm and it HAS POCKETS. Big, no-nonsense pockets. I'm in blissful skirt-love.

And thanks so much to Aly for taking these photos! I was definitely not looking forward to battling the rain to get my usual gate snaps.

PFF program launch

AND THE PRIZE FOR MOST FAB MORNING GOES TO THIS MORNING. YEP, THIS MORNING DEF WINS THE PRIZE. Seriously, I can think of no better way to spend a rainy tuesday morning than with Perth's most fashion-obsessed peeps celebrating the launch of the Perth Fashion Festival 2012 program. And there is SO much to look forward to. Aside from Restyle on the Runway, if you can believe it.

Photos by Stefan Gosatti

Opening with a vibrant and eclectic display of local fashion led by stunning Face of the Festival Nicole Pollard, drinks were shared and spirits were high as director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan told us the festival is "breaking with tradition, taking on new formats and events to spice it up. After 14 years PFF is still fresh, exciting and innovative." Too cool.

The official website is up and you can check it out here and find out all you need to know. Stay tuned, September's going to be radical.

Also - it was delightful catching up with some of my fellow Restylers! I don't think anyone was left guessing who the bloggers were at the party...

FLOWERS! I can't get enough. Obviously. Daisies are my fave but I dig a nice grungey 90s flowery dress and I can't say no to a dandelion. Inner six year old, etc.

restyle: atomic

Top from Save the Children ($4.00) / Scarf from Anglicare ($2.00)
with
vintage jeans

The perfect outfit for a lazy hungover sunday afternoon. (The morning was spent asleep, obviously.) Slouchy jeans and a slouchy top to go with my slouchy brain. And hey - here's a cool thing that can happen in an op shop! Coming across official merchandise for a concert attended a couple years ago for probably a mere snippet of the original price. Too rad.

A super quick post because I am in the mother of all rushes at the moment - I'll just have to let this delightfully puffy pink top speak for itself!

restyle: a touch of red

I was originally wearing some sweet yellow boots with this THAT I WAS SO EXCITED TO SHOW YOU but then the sole fell off one of them in the middle of picking up my groceries at Woollies because life has impeccable timing, but I think this still looks decent? Definitely not as hot as I looked hobbling around Karrinyup shops holding half a boot in my hand, but still not bad.
