restyle: launched

Skirt from Red Cross ($30.00) / Belt from Good Samaritan ($2.00)
with
i.d.s. top / Forever New tights / ASOS socks / Lucy Lockett heels

And here is how I looked at this morning's marvelous event!

This skirt is easily one of my favourite things I've ever found in an op shop. A little more than you might expect to pay (the steep price of $30 HAHAHA) but this is some damn sweet quality vintage. Just can't say no to that shit. Flattering, diverse, warm and it HAS POCKETS. Big, no-nonsense pockets. I'm in blissful skirt-love.

And thanks so much to Aly for taking these photos! I was definitely not looking forward to battling the rain to get my usual gate snaps.

restyle: little black take two

Dress from Red Cross ($9.95)
with
vintage belt / Lucy Lockett heels

Another sweet little black dress find! I can just tell this is going to be perfect for occasions when I can't be bothered with sartorial decisions and need something to quickly slip on.

restyle: navy and black

Dress from Salvos ($9.99)
with
vintage belt / ASOS socks / Lucy Lockett heels

I am in total getting-shit-done mode at the moment. Cleaning, fixing up my resume, researching and applying for work, getting on top of emails, watching the women's pole vault final (those athletes are SUPERHEROES), eating a block of top deck chocolate... basically Errands Central right here. And a comfy somehow-mixing-navy-and-black dress is the perfect getup for it.

Loose lips

I have a new dress! HOORAY for end of financial year sales, for reals. It's cute and a bit sailor-y and has buttons and pockets and therefore is perfect. Fact.

Also I LOVE that it's cold enough now for me to wear my big black trench coat. It adds an instant degree of classiness and elegance to everything. I'm going to Melbourne in a few weeks and I have a feeling I'll be wearing it nonstop while I'm there.

You've got the love

Say 'how do you do' to my gorgeous new red dress, bought in Sydney last week! So this blog is basically me going on about stuff I own that I love probably a little too much and this dress is no exception. I LOVE this dress. And even better - I love the way I feel when I wear this dress.

There are two things I love about fashion, and are essentially what I personally consider "fashion" being all about: 1. clothing as a form of self-expression, and 2. wearing clothing that makes you feel fabulous, confident and just plain good about yourself. There's a hell of a lot of negativity in this industry but you'll find none of that here, no sir. My attitude towards this blog has always been that it's my fashion-happy-place. Hence my constant lovey-doveyness!

Heh, slight tangent there but my point is I wear what makes me feel good. And this dress makes me feel MAGNIFICENT. It also makes me feel like I'd fit right in on Mad Men (and that is of course a Very Good Thing).
